Outside My Beauty Bubble (2)

In the previous entry, I dabbled a bit about coming across counterfeit makeup. I’ve seen Internet talk about their existence and even saw news reports about them, but to see them in person is a bit of a rarity.

You see, in NYC, counterfeits of major makeup brands is rare to see – there’s just far too many SephUltas in Manhattan alone that buying counterfeit seems… well, counterproductive.

But that isn’t to say that I’ve never seen counterfeit makeup being sold in the streets of NYC – I actually did, and it was in the last place I expected to come across: 34th Street, a.k.a. Herald Square.

The BBA Makeup Workhorses

Hey, Beautiful Blossoms!

I’m glad to be able to sneak in a blog entry today – between working my regular and overtime hours, shuffling between the old apartment and the new house, and trying to get my licensing exam in order, it’s nice to be able to talk about something that’s completely unrelated to all that: makeup.

Februrary already starts tomorrow and the event itself is held in April and I had a reasonably good time last year when I went for the first time ever. The only reason I found out about IMATS was because I was desperate to find a convention for makeup. We have Comic-Con, Winter-Con, Pax East (okay, not held in NYC but still), SXSW (South by Southwest), DragCon (West Coast only), but none that really caters to a makeup enthusiast.
